La Mirada (the gaze) presents nine outside their country almost unknown Latin American artist-photographers. The works of the last 20 years range from straight photography to the staged image. This title describes not only gaze of the camera directed towards a specific subject, but also the artistic attitude and mental approach of the nine artists and their diverse views on photography.

Graphic designer López Castro presents a collection of photographs of street paintings of the Virgin of Guadalupe, a methodological documentation project of a distinctive Mexican folkart he started in 2002 and that culminated in the present book that includes the prologue of anthropologist Roger Bartra. Of the book the author states -"The Guadalupana is the virgin of the poor. That is why in this book I try to make it evident how each Mexican paints her as best as they can, as they need her or with the only purpose of having her present during their daily street walking."

Tengo en las manos las pruebas del libro de Aarón Sánchez, “Así lo vi”. Observo las fotografías del México y el mundo de los últimos 50 años y encuentro y reencuentro rostros, paisajes y acontecimientos en los cuales compartí el trabajo con este infatigable reportero gráfico cuya inabarcable obra apenas queda insinuada en esta selección la cual, como todas, resulta incompleta.

¿Qué es el cine clásico? No trataremos aquí de establecer algunos "clásicos del cine" o de discutir un canon. Lo que este libro busca es interrogar ciertas formas, estilos y funciones que suelen, en el cine, considerarse clásicas, y que poseen una trayectoria por lo menos atípica. Mientras otras artes delineaban sus percepciones de lo moderno, el cine estabilizó, y a escala planetaria, ciertos modos de mostrar y narrar durante varias décadas.
