Cuando empecé a hacer fotos ni siquiera sabía qué era la fotografía de calle; sin embargo intuía que la cámara —entonces de mi padre— podía convertirse en una herramienta con la que expresarme. El paso del tiempo ha dejado pequeñas incluso las mejores expectativas. Fotografiar y compartir lo que sé en mi blog y ahora a través de este libro, se parece mucho a ser de nuevo un niño que se divierte y descubre historias e imágenes nuevas cada día. En estas páginas he recogido todo lo que necesitas para practicar y mejorar tu fotografía de calle tanto si ya tienes experiencia...

En este volumen se han reunido, junto con muchas fotografías de la colección del Museo del Estanquillo. Páginas que dedicó a esas imágenes fugaces pero inolvidables en libros, revistas, prólogos, periódicos, catálogos. Estas páginas son espejos del país y de nosotros, imágenes de nuestros recuerdos, Maravillas que son, sombras que fueron, captadas por esa especie de fotógrafo de México que fue Carlos Monsiváis durante cinco décadas.

The charming town of Los Gatos is nestled at the base of the Santa Cruz Mountains and is sometimes referred to as the Gem City of the Foothills. It has inspired hundreds of postcard images through the years, many reflecting the areas abundance of natural beauty. As the town and surrounding area grew and prospered through agriculture, logging, and commerce, the local architecture and landmarks became popular subjects. Glimpses of everyday lifechurches, schools, houses, and businessesfurther enhanced the pictorial history the postcards represent.

Exhibition highlights of the international photographic collection of the Foundation Televisa in Mexico with text by 81 prestigious writers. Each writer was given a copy of a photograph from the collection (from 1840-contemporary digital works) and asked to write an essay. Some of the photographers include: Manuel Alvarez Bravo, Anton Bruehl, Robert Capa, Gisele Fruend, Graciela Itrubide, Alfred Stieglitz, Cindy Sherman, Tina Modotti. Some of the writers include: Dore Ahston, Amitav Ghosh, Alvaro Mutis, Hugh Thomas, Jorge Volpi, Mike Wallace, Elena Poniatowska.
