This number of the monographic series is dedicated to restoration specialist, architect and watercolor painter Villa Chávez (b. Mexico). This extensive study of Villa Chávez life and architecture is divided in 2 parts: the first reviews his academic career and his professional practice in Guadalajara and Colima. A second part reviews in detail his restoration projects, his architecture, his open space interventions and his pictorial production (watercolors and drawings). Amongst other academic contributions Villa Chávez founded the School of Architecture in the University of Colima and was a pioneer when introducing contemporary restoration theory of architectural patrimony in western Mexico.

Life and work of polemic architect and urbanist Meyer (b. Switzerland), one of the most important functionalists of the 1920's. The former director of the Bauhaus, he worked for the Post-Revolutionary Regimes in Mexico as the director of the Instituto del Urbanismo y Planification from 1942 through 1949, while also becoming the editor of the collective graphic workshop Taller de Grafica Popular (TGP) from 1947 to 1949.
