Jane Goodall, (Londres, 1936), soñaba de pequeña con viajar a África y vivir junto a los animales. Ya de mayor trabajó y ahorró el dinero suficiente y viajó a Kenia. Allí conoció al doctor Louis Leakey que la contrató como asistente. Después viajó a Tanzania para estudiar a los chimpancés en estado salvaje. Acercándose a ellos con paciencia, la aceptaron y los estudió día a día. Así se convirtió en la mayor experta mundial en chimpancés. Actualmente dedica su vida a la conservación del medio ambiente y a la educación.
