The essays in this book look not at the United States, the context usually associated with Wright, but at countries around the globe. Anthony Alofsin has assembled ...

Espacio público

Libro Espacio público

A compilation of texts by Professor Julio Arroyo previously presented in different academic meetings make up the present edition centered in public spaces in contemporary cities and the architecture that is concomitant, taking as a study reference the city of Santa Fe. Public spaces are a crucial category of urban life. However, in contemporary cities inconsistencies and contradictions prevail against the ethical postulates that define them -social cohesion, democratic inclusion, free expression, symbolic representation of citizen values- and the phenomena of what is public, dissociated in...

In the nineties, the modern orthodoxy has stopped imposing its criteria. At a time when there are as many architectural philosophies as architects, this volume offers us some answers to the common question of where present-day architecture is going. This view of the current world of architecture is presented through analysis of the projects of the most recognized and respected architects, but also the most innovative ones and those of the new generations.
