¿Sabías que a lo largo de la historia han muerto más personas a causa de las epidemias que por culpa de las guerras y otros desastres? Algunos científicos, a veces arriesgando sus vidas, investigaron las causas de enfermedades como la peste, el cólera, el sida o el ébola. Muchos de ellos fueron objeto de burla, fueron ignorados, e incluso los despidieron de sus trabajos. Sin embargo siguieron intentando encajar las piezas del puzle de las epidemias. Y la primera pieza, la más importante, era el «paciente cero», la primera persona que hubiera contraído la enfermedad, porque así podían descubrir su origen y evolución. ¡Había que encontrarlo!
