Los tres articulos reunidos en este libro pretenden aportar elementos al debate sobre el lugar del trabajo psicosocial en el contexto colombiano y sobre los dilemas eticos y politicos que el mismo plantea a quienes lo financian, lo promueven y lo realizan.

Esta investigación se enfoca particularmente en la participación de mujeres inmigrantes colombianas y resalta su agencia en sus opciones laborales y migratorias. Por otra parte analiza el trabajo sexual como una actividad económica. El libro intenta revelar las mediaciones que el mercado sexual presenta y que dan especificidad y peculiaridad al trabajo sexual.
