"La autora de este libro nació en Barcelona y fue educado como católica en la apostólica y romana España de Franco. Muchos años después, tras la larga enfermedad y muerte de su madre, Dory Sontheimer descubre en el altillo de su casa, las siete cajas que le revelan una identidad y un pasado tan desconocido como dramático. Ordenando este emergente legado, compuesto por fotografías, cartas, pasaportes y otros documentos, Sontheimer reconstruye la crónica de su familia.
