23.-Arte mudéjar.

Se conoce por arte mudéjar o morisco la producción artística de los musulmanes que trabajaron al servicio de los cristianos. A medida que iba avanzando esa oleada histórica que tan desafortunadamente conocemos con el nombre de Reconquista, grandes masas de población musulmana iban sometiéndose a la administración de los reinos cristianos. Estos guerreros del norte no contaban la mayor parte de las veces con suficientes arquitectos para erigir sus obras, y recurrían en gran medida al trabajo de los «alarifes» musulmanes, que conocían su oficio a la perfección.
