Resumen del Libro

La història del disseny arquitectònic en l’Edat Mitjana ha estat el nostre punt de partida per a estudiar els sistemes voltats del gòtic valencià. Amb aquests coneixements previs s’aborda aquesta obra, sobre la base d’un catàleg elaborat amb aquest motiu de les creueries dels edificis estudiats. Partim del convenciment que el dibuix era l’eina imprescindible en la producció de les estructures voltades. Per aquesta raó, seguint el sistema medieval de traces i plantilles, dibuixem totes i cada una de les creueries més representatives de l’àmbit valencià. El dibuix permet conèixer les claus de la seua concepció i descobreix infinitat de detalls que d’una altra manera haurien passat inadvertits. Pilars, capitells, mènsules, bandes decoratives, nervadures, claus i plementeries, han estat estudiats i comparats, posant en relleu la seua evolució tipològica.

Hannes Meyer

Life and work of polemic architect and urbanist Meyer (b. Switzerland), one of the most important functionalists of the 1920's. The former director of the Bauhaus, he worked for the Post-Revolutionary Regimes in Mexico as the director of the Instituto del Urbanismo y Planification from 1942 through 1949, while also becoming the editor of the collective graphic workshop Taller de Grafica Popular (TGP) from 1947 to 1949.
