Graphic designer López Castro presents a collection of photographs of street paintings of the Virgin of Guadalupe, a methodological documentation project of a distinctive Mexican folkart he started in 2002 and that culminated in the present book that includes the prologue of anthropologist Roger Bartra. Of the book the author states -"The Guadalupana is the virgin of the poor. That is why in this book I try to make it evident how each Mexican paints her as best as they can, as they need her or with the only purpose of having her present during their daily street walking."

Tengo en las manos las pruebas del libro de Aarón Sánchez, “Así lo vi”. Observo las fotografías del México y el mundo de los últimos 50 años y encuentro y reencuentro rostros, paisajes y acontecimientos en los cuales compartí el trabajo con este infatigable reportero gráfico cuya inabarcable obra apenas queda insinuada en esta selección la cual, como todas, resulta incompleta.

El diseño es el factor más importante para crear una buena fotografía. La capacidad para intuir el potencial de una imagen potente y luego organizar los elementos gráficos en una composición efectiva y convincente ha sido siempre uno de los requerimientos más fundamentales de la fotografía.
