René Voillaume fue el fundador, bajo la inspiración del testamento espiritual del hermano Carlos de Foucauld, de los Hermanitos de Jesús y de los Hermanitos y Hermanitas del Evangelio, presentes en todo el mundo. Fue también impulsor de varias asociaciones y movimientos sacerdotales y de laicos.
