Investigar con historias de vida

Resumen del Libro

Este libro, centrado en un modo narrativo de conocimiento, opta por la historia de vida como metodología cualitativa de investigación. Comienza contextualizando la historia de vida en su paradigma más inmediato, el cualitativo, y, dentro de este, la investigación crítica o emancipadora, a través de la metodología biográfico-narrativa. Posteriormente, describe las formas de hacer investigación narrativa, su alcance y su uso. Gira, exclusivamente, en torno a historias de vida (life history). Para ello, dedica un apartado a distintas cuestiones que preocupan a la hora de investigar con narrativas: ¿Cuántas historias de vida? ¿Es el consentimiento realmente informado? ¿La dialéctica de lo relacional? ¿Cómo transcribimos? ¿Sujetos o participantes? A continuación, describe diferentes instrumentos que pueden utilizarse para recoger la información narrada en las historias (entrevista biográfica, entrevista a otros informantes, auto-informe, un día en la vida de, la línea de vida y la fotografía), siguiendo un enfoque paradigmático y narrativo. Finaliza con un apartado sobre ética de la investigación en el que se abordan planteamientos referidos a cuestiones éticas a tener en cuenta antes, durante y después de la investigación. Una obra, con enfoque teórico-práctico, escrita pensando en responder a cuestiones que las personas interesadas en este tipo de metodología puedan hacerse o haberse hecho a la hora de investigar con historias de vida. Será de gran ayuda a la hora de emprender nuevos estudios de estas características.
