The charming town of Los Gatos is nestled at the base of the Santa Cruz Mountains and is sometimes referred to as the Gem City of the Foothills. It has inspired hundreds of postcard images through the years, many reflecting the areas abundance of natural beauty. As the town and surrounding area grew and prospered through agriculture, logging, and commerce, the local architecture and landmarks became popular subjects. Glimpses of everyday lifechurches, schools, houses, and businessesfurther enhanced the pictorial history the postcards represent.

Life and professional career of photographer Moya considered one of the giants of the development of photojournalism in Mexico, particularly during the 70 year authoritarian regime of the political party PRI. Moya combined a sense of social and political journalism with a high artistic value in his photographs, obtaining a balance practiced only by Tina Modotti 50 years before. A look at the work of sixteen postwar Mexican photographers--including Tina Modetti, Flor Gardegno, and Eugenia Vargas--shows how the photographers explore traditional themes in Mexican culture with innovative styles.

Exhibition highlights of the international photographic collection of the Foundation Televisa in Mexico with text by 81 prestigious writers. Each writer was given a copy of a photograph from the collection (from 1840-contemporary digital works) and asked to write an essay.
