The author describes and discusses the influence Le Corbusier in Uruguay through a series of trips, the first done by the Swiss-French architect in 1929, and the remaining ones from the three Uruguayan architects who joined the workshop of the notable architect: Carlos Gómez Gavazzo, in 1933, Justino Serralta, in 1948, and Carlos Clémot, in 1949. The present research work is based on original manuscripts and testimonies from architect González Gortázar (b. Mexico) regarding his transcendent architecture and urban designs. González Gortázar is considered at present one of the most important architects of México, creator of spaces and urban art that are now geometric symbols and references of the city of Guadalajara in México. The architect strongly practices the concept of "Space and Art" and where the city should never loose their social function for which it was originally conceived and constructed.
