After being diagnosed with cancer, the author, who had seen both her father and sister die from that very disease, faced her diagnosis with the greatest possible physical and mental strength. This book is the result of that experience, and in it she shares certain aspects that maybe other people might be ashamed to share, but are important to be prepared for. The author also makes sure to inject a good dose of encouragement, strength, and humor with the intention of relativizing the ego, which gets very badly bruised by the disease. Al caer enferma de cáncer, la autora, que había visto fallecer a su padre y hermana aquejados de la misma enfermedad, se enfrentó a ella empleando la máxima fuerza mental y física posible. Fruto de esa experiencia surge este libro en el que relata aspectos que tal vez nadie se atreve a contar y para los que hay que estar preparados. Se preocupa además por infundir ánimo, fuerza y una buena dosis de humor con la intención de relativizar el ego, que queda muy maltrecho por la enfermedad.
