Matías y sus amigos van a la biblioteca. Penélope quiere que Matías le hace un retrato para la exposición. Sus amigos miran los libros de arte y proponen como hacer el retrato. Después del cuento se muestran las pinturas que vieron Matías y sus amigos en los libros con comentarios sobre cada pintura y unos datos biográficos de los pintores.

Esta lección hace un recorrido por el arte moderno desde las vanguardias y rupturas con los códigos estéticos tradicionales, hasta la desintegración del arte y las nuevas perspectivas artísticas.
