Además, la enfoca en su contexto individual, relacional, grupal y organizacional; abarca los ámbitos psicológico, sociológico, laboral, económico administrativo y el relacionado con la salud. Incluye temas clásicos como las condiciones de la adecuada enseñanza, la capacitación y evaluación del magisterio, el análisis de la actividad docente —características individuales, condiciones del medio ambiente, los conflictos del rol docente y la carga de trabajo— además las competencias docentes; así como también temáticas sumamente novedosas, que poco se han tratado en el entorno latinoamericano, entre éstas: los temores del docente, cuyo tratamiento es fascinante; los mitos sobre la actividad docente y los factores del ambiente laboral que afectan la práctica docente, incluyendo, el liderazgo, la comunicación, la motivación, la claridad y la ciudadanía organizacional. Un tema que es tratado ampliamente, es el relativo a la salud del docente en sus aspectos físico, mental y emocional; tópico que los médicos, enfermeras, psicólogos y psiquiatras, entre otros, encontrarán muy interesante. Adicionalmente, la obra hace recomendaciones específicas para la mejora personal del profesor, destacando las relativas al manejo del estrés; lo que lo convierte también en un manual práctico para todo docente.
