Estos tres volúmenes recogen los frutos del VI Congreso Internacional de Historia de la Lengua Española, celebrado en Madrid, durante septiembre y octubre de 2003. En total, nueve ponencias plenarias, artículos de tres mesas redondas y más de ciento cincuenta comunicaciones repartidas a lo largo de 3.128 páginas.
