El autor nacio en La Habana en 1947 y reside en Suecia. Ha ganado el Premio David (Cuba) de cuentos (1983) y con esta novela el V premio de novela Ciudad de Badajoz. Naufragios es un relato, ambientado en la costa norte de Cuba, sobre supervivientes que, a pesar de las circunstancias, por muy adversas que sean, no han renunciado a ser felicies.
