Una definición básica del teatro como espacio arquitectónico es aquella que lo considera como el lugar que se proyecta y se construye para que ocurran eventos dignos de atención, lo que incluye la aparición en el tiempo de diversos formatos de distracción y de arte que han llevado a las distintas sociedades a generar espacios para presenciar de la mejor manera determinado espectáculo. Esta definición de espacio teatral es de carácter general y se articula con el acontecer histórico y cultural de cada contexto.

The Catalog Architecture of the Modern Movement of Peru (CAMMP) is the outcome of the investigation of the same name the University of Lima developed between 2013 and 2015. It is the first initiative that set out to inventory and document the most important buildings of the national production in the modern period.
