José María Castaño nace en Jerez en 1970. Es Licenciado en Derecho por la Universidad de Cádiz y crítico flamenco. Su labor principal, con respecto al mundo del flamenco, es la dirección del programa de radio “Los Caminos del Cante”, que se emite a diario desde Jerez para toda Andalucía. También su puesto como coordinador general del Aula del Arte Flamenco de la Universidad de Cádiz. Escribe en prensa y ofrece conferencias.
