Resumen del Libro

El mundo de los héroes y heroínas celtas toca prácticamente a su fin después de la Batalla de Gabhra. En esta batalla Finn y sus guerreros los “Fianna” son prácticamente aniquilados y es también el momento en el que irrumpe con fuerza la ideología cristiana que lleva consigo el final de la cultura pagana. También sus leyes, como son las leyes Brethon, pasarán poco a poco a mejor vida, dejando en su lugar unas nuevas leyes que en apariencia se basan en la doctrina cristiana, como es la abolición de la esclavitud, pero que en realidad serán aplicadas por unos señores feudales analfabetos y muchas veces brutales convirtiendo el mundo pseudo-cristiano en una gran cárcel. En las postrimerías de ese mundo mítico nace Finn, el héroe que goza de la libertad de elegir su destino junto con sus guerreros, que ofrecen su espada a distintos reyes de la isla. Sera el bardo Ossian Hijo del héroe Finn, el que cante las hazañas de su padre y de sus compañeros de armas.
